New Delhi, April 2, 2026: Krishan Kumar Singh, Director (Personnel) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has taken over the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director of the Maharatna steelmaker with effect from April 2, 2026.
With nearly four decades of extensive experience across operations, human resource development, vigilance, and personnel and administration, Singh has been a key contributor to SAIL’s growth trajectory. He began his career in 1987 as a Management Trainee at Bhilai Steel Plant, where he spent over a decade in the Blooming and Billet Mill before moving into the HR domain.
Over the years, he has held several leadership positions, including Executive Director (In-charge) of Personnel and Administration. His appointment as Director (Personnel) in 2022 reflected his deep domain expertise and strong leadership credentials.
In his current role, Singh has spearheaded transformative HR initiatives aimed at building a future-ready workforce. His emphasis on progressive employee welfare and development has strengthened SAIL’s people-centric approach. With this additional responsibility, Singh is expected to steer the organization towards sustained excellence and innovation.
