17 firms join deliberations on brownfield expansion, coke oven battery and Gua mining plans
Bokaro, April 10, 2026:
Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), held a one-day ‘Bidders’ Meet Connect Pro’ to deliberate on upcoming capital projects under its expansion roadmap. Leading engineering firms from India and abroad participated.
Director In-Charge Priy Ranjan inaugurated the session in the presence of senior executives. Executive Director (Projects) Anish Sengupta outlined the objectives and welcomed participants.
Discussions covered brownfield expansion, stamp charged coke oven battery and Gua iron ore mine expansion. Seventeen prospective bidders, including technology providers and balance of plant suppliers, participated, while consultant M/s M N Dastur presented technical inputs.
Technical, commercial and contractual aspects were deliberated with focus on faster tender finalisation and time-bound execution. Interactive exchanges enabled direct clarification between bidders and the BSL project team.
The expansion plan targets an additional 3 million tonnes of crude steel capacity, reinforcing BSL’s focus on efficiency, transparency and coordinated execution.
