Bokaro. A key meeting between Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) management and representatives of the Displaced Apprentice Association was held at the district collectorate on Saturday to discuss issues related to displaced families. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha and attended by Superintendent of Police Harvinder Singh, Additional Collector Md Mumtaz Ansari, SDO Chas Pranjal Dhada and senior BSL officials including CGM (City Services) Kundan Kumar and CGM (HR) Anjani Kumar.
Following detailed discussions held in a positive and constructive atmosphere, the protesters agreed to withdraw the ongoing protest at Two Tank Garden in BS City, paving the way for further dialogue and resolution of the issues raised by the displaced families.
BSL management acknowledged the important contribution of displaced families and local residents in the establishment and growth of Bokaro Steel Plant and reiterated its commitment to addressing their concerns through dialogue.
The management informed that a Kritagyata Park will be developed in Sector-11 to honour the contribution of displaced families and highlight their role in the plant’s history. It also announced the Sanjeevani scheme for contract workers, providing medical coverage of up to ₹4 lakh.
Representatives of the displaced association placed their demands during the meeting, and after assurances of positive steps from the management, a consensus was reached to end the protest.
