ISC 440 LA, ISC 470 LA, ISC 510 LA and ISC 550 LA Included Under IS 513 (Part 2), Strengthening Value-Added Steel Portfolio

Bokaro Steel Plant, a flagship unit of the Steel Authority of India Limited, has received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards, Jamshedpur, for inclusion of four High Strength Low Alloy (HSLA) cold rolled steel grades—ISC 440 LA, ISC 470 LA, ISC 510 LA and ISC 550 LA—under IS 513 (Part 2).

The approval expands the plant’s BIS license beyond the earlier limit of ISC 410 and marks a significant step in strengthening its value-added steel portfolio. These advanced grades offer high tensile strength, improved formability and excellent weldability, making them suitable for automotive and heavy engineering applications.

The achievement has been secured under the leadership of Director In-Charge Priya Ranjan, reflecting the plant’s continued focus on product innovation, quality enhancement and strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities in line with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.
