Ranchi:Hon’ble Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar said that the ‘Steel City’ Jamshedpur is not merely an industrial town, but a strong example of visionary industrial thinking, ethical values, and social responsibility, which has earned recognition both nationally and internationally. He was addressing the inaugural session of the 6th IEEE International Conference – ICRTCST-26, organized by RVS College of Engineering and Technology.
The Governor said that the foundation of this proud legacy was laid by Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group, who viewed industry not merely as a means of profit but as an effective instrument for nation-building and social service. He added that the Tata Group’s contribution in the fields of education, research, technology, and human welfare continues to be a source of inspiration.
Shri Gangwar stated that Jharkhand is known for its rich natural and mineral resources, cultural diversity, and young talent. At a time when the world is undergoing rapid technological transformation, science, technology, and innovation have become the cornerstone of sustainable and inclusive development for any state and nation.
The Governor said that the two-day international conference is focusing on communication technology, artificial intelligence, smart systems, cyber-physical systems, and other emerging digital technologies, which are not only the need of the present but also define the direction of the future. These technologies are providing new momentum to industry, healthcare, education, smart governance, and social development. He noted that conferences organized by prestigious organizations like IEEE play a vital role not only in the exchange of knowledge but also in developing practical solutions to global challenges.
He emphasized that the role of academic institutions is no longer limited to awarding degrees, but they must evolve into centers of research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and social solutions. He called upon young researchers and students to use their technical skills to address real-life societal problems, stating that research becomes meaningful only when its benefits reach the last person in society.
The Governor further said that under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, India is continuously moving towards self-reliance and technological empowerment through initiatives such as Digital India, Make in India, Startup India, Vocal for Local, and Viksit Bharat @2047. He added that such international technical conferences play an important role in preparing youth for global competition.
