Ranchi: Union Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Sanjay Seth, has launched a new initiative aimed at preventing cyber fraud and spreading public awareness about cyber safety. Under this initiative, BSNL and Cyber Peace Foundation have been brought together on a common platform to protect traders and citizens of Ranchi from cyber crimes.
In this regard, a workshop was organized today at the Union Minister’s central office in Ranchi. Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sanjay Seth said that cyber fraud has become a serious and rapidly growing problem in Ranchi. While earlier common citizens were mainly targeted, the business community is now increasingly falling victim to such crimes.
He said, “I have started this initiative to create awareness and protection against cyber fraud. Now, BSNL, a Government of India organization, and Cyber Peace Foundation, which works in the field of cyber security awareness, will work together. Through this effort, we aim to safeguard traders and common people from cyber crimes.”
On this occasion, BSNL officials, representatives of Cyber Peace Foundation, and other eminent citizens were informed about various measures to prevent cyber fraud. The speakers emphasized that to combat cyber crimes, not only technical solutions but also public awareness and social participation are the most effective tools.
They also stressed the need to create “Cyber Ambassadors” across the country who can educate people about cyber safety. BSNL and Cyber Peace Foundation are actively working to make youth, traders, and MSMEs aware of new cybercrime techniques and methods of digital fraud.
The speakers highlighted that cyber security is no longer just a law-and-order issue; it has now become closely linked with national security and economic security. With the increasing use of digital transactions and online services, it is essential to make cyber hygiene a daily habit.
On this occasion, BSNL CGM Mr. Vipul Agrawal, PGM Mr. Umesh Shah, founder of Cyber Peace Foundation Mr. Vineet Kumar, and several other distinguished guests were present.
