Bokaro: Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on Tuesday announced the commencement of its flagship community wellness initiative “Happy Street” from December 14 at 7:30 a.m., inviting all industries of Bokaro to actively participate in the programme. The announcement was made during a press conference, where officials highlighted the event’s growing role as a city-wide movement for health and fitness.
The press conference was attended by TA Chief Kundan Kumar, COC BSL M.K. Dhan, and senior officials Avinash Kumar, Kishan Chandan, and C.R.K. Sudhanshu. From the Public Relations Department, D.K. Singh, Ravi Kumar, and Abhinav Kumar were also present.
Replying to a media query on whether industries beyond BSL could take part, officials clearly stated that every industry, organisation and citizen is welcome to participate actively, especially as Bokaro is a major industrial hub. They emphasised that Happy Street belongs to the entire city.
This year as well, participation is expected from schools and educational institutions, Bokaro Mahila Samiti, Sangeet Kala Academy, CRPF, CISF, Rotary Club, Lions Club, Rotary Club of Mid Town Couples, Ex-Servicemen Association and several other social organisations, along with the general public.
On selected Sundays, the road stretch notably both side from Bokaro Mall Mor to Gandhi Chowk will remain closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to facilitate yoga, fitness, sports and cultural activities aimed at encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle among citizens.
