Bokaro:
Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Steel Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma on Monday indicated a positive outlook on the expansion of Bokaro Steel Plant, saying the proposal is under active consideration. Speaking briefly to the media during his visit to Bokaro, the Minister said discussions are in progress and the Centre is moving forward on the matter.
Highlighting the strategic role of Bokaro Steel Plant in the national steel framework, Varma said the expansion is important for enhancing production capacity and supporting broader industrial growth in the region.
Addressing media queries, the Minister said that representations and demands raised by public representatives and citizens have been taken note of at the government level. Responding to a question on encroachment, he said the issue would be examined after discussions with the concerned officials.
The assurance from the Union Minister has generated fresh optimism in Bokaro, where the expansion of the steel plant is widely seen as key to the city’s long-term industrial strength and development.
