Street Play Focused on Children’s Rights Sends a Strong Message on Safety



Awareness Programme on POCSO Act Successfully Organized at JVM Shyamali


Ranchi:: Jawahar Vidya Mandir, Shyamali organized a special awareness programme and a street play based on the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, 2012, with the aim of promoting children’s safety, rights, and awareness.

The primary objective of the event was to convey to students, parents, and society that—“Any form of sexual abuse against children is a punishable offence, and awareness is the first step toward safety.”

The programme was presided over by Principal Mr. Samarjeet Jana. Vice-Principal B.N. Jha, Vice-Principal Sanjay Kumar, Vice-Principal Anupama Srivastava, Department Heads Amrinder Kaur Saluja, S.K. Jha, and Mamta Das were also present, adding significance to the event.




Street Play Highlights Child Safety and Protection Measures



The street play presented by students effectively depicted various forms of child abuse, understanding of ‘Good Touch–Bad Touch,’ self-protection methods, and the use of emergency helpline 1098 for reporting any such incident.
The socially responsible and impactful performance was appreciated by everyone, as it encouraged viewers to become more sensitive and aware about child safety.

On this occasion, Principal Mr. Samarjeet Jana said—A school is not merely a center of education but a place where the safety and rights of children are our utmost priority. Such programmes provide practical awareness to both children and parents.”



Department Heads Appreciated the Students’ Performance



The department heads praised the students for their excellent presentation and assured that similar awareness programmes would continue to be organized regularly to enhance children’s understanding of self-safety.

The programme was conducted by the school teachers, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Upper Primary Department Head Mr. Deepak Sinha.
