Ranchi: A heartwarming initiative to bring smiles to the faces of underprivileged children during the harsh winter was witnessed at Red Crescent Public School, Islamnagar Pathalkudwa, Ranchi.Under the campaign ‘Cold Is Bold – An Initiative by MAHI’, led by the Maulana Azad Humane Initiative (MAHI), 35 students were gifted warm sweaters to protect them from the biting cold.
In many urban underdeveloped localities, lack of warm clothing during winter often disrupts children’s education. Considering this challenge, MAHI organized a respectful and encouraging distribution event at the school, aiming to ensure continued access to education and to spread awareness among the community. The event was led by MAHI Convenor and Member of Jharkhand Sunni Waqf Board, Mr. Ibrar Ahmad, with strong local support from Phool Bagan President Badru Mallik
Addressing the students, Mr. Ibrar Ahmad said:
“These sweaters are not just woven from wool but from the threads of community solidarity. The sparkle in the eyes of these children even in the extreme cold gives us the confidence that the flame of knowledge will never fade. Our commitment is to expand this mission to every underprivileged school so that no child fears the winter, but instead rises to chase their dreams. Let us join hands to win this battle through education.”
Emotionally addressing the gathering,
Panchayat President Badru Mallik said:
“These 35 children represent the future of our locality. By giving them sweaters, we have defeated the cold, but the real victory will be when every household ensures their children are in school. At the panchayat level, we will extend full support — whether it is resources or awareness. It is the collective responsibility of society to help these blooming buds grow and make our nation proud.”
The event emerged as a strong message of compassion and cooperation within Ranchi’s social fabric. MAHI announced that this campaign will continue throughout November, aiming to benefit hundreds of children across the city.
The program saw enthusiastic participation from School Principal Imtiyaz Ahmad, Vice-Principal Mosarrat Jahan, and teachers Sangeeta Ekka Topno, Nighat Anjum, Abha Rani ,Hembram Sirila Dungdung, Kanti Khalkho, Gulfashan Firdaus, Saniya Farha, Afreen Saba, Chandni Tabassum, and Neha Rani.
