After a Month-and-a-Half Battle, Life Triumphed — Paras Hospital Made the Impossible Possible

Ranchi: Paras Hospital, HEC Ranchi, has achieved a remarkable medical success by saving the life of a critically ill patient. The patient’s kidneys, liver, lungs, and brain had all been affected by severe infection. The 30-yearold man was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state, suffering from high fever and severe breathing difficulty. Examinations revealed septic encephalopathy, severe infection in both lungs (pleural effusion), acute liver failure, and kidney failure.

Since the patient’s condition was extremely critical and urine output had completely stopped, hemodialysis was started immediately. Fluid accumulated in the lungs was drained through a chest tube, and the patient was administered high-grade antibiotics and other life-saving medications under intensive medical care. He was also kept on ventilator support for some time.

Under the close supervision of Dr. Ashok Kumar Vaidya, Consultant Nephrologist at Paras Hospital HEC, and his dedicated team, the patient underwent regular hemodialysis, blood and platelet transfusions, and received coordinated treatment from a multidisciplinary medical team. Gradually, his condition began to improve. After nearly one and a half months of continuous treatment, the patient’s kidney and liver functions started to recover, and he was discharged in good health. At present, he is attending regular OPD follow-ups and leading a healthy life.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Vaidya said, “The patient’s condition was extremely critical. Timely intervention, regular hemodialysis, and coordinated efforts from all departments made this recovery possible. This case proves that even in severe multi-organ failure situations, there is always hope—provided treatment is started promptly and in the right direction.”

Dr. Nitesh Kumar, Facility Director of Paras Hospital HEC, said, “Our hospital is fully equipped with advanced technology and a dedicated team committed to providing the best possible care to every critical patient. This case is a testament to our team’s dedication and collective effort.”
