Pakur District Sets National Benchmark for Inclusive Development

Ranchi: Pakur district administration has received national recognition for its exemplary performance and innovative initiatives under the “Adi Karmyogi Abhiyan.” At the National Conclave organized by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, Pakur was declared the Best Performing District in the country for Outstanding Performance and Innovative Initiatives in Advancing Inclusive Tribal Development.

On this occasion, Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious award to Pakur District Collector Mr. Manish Kumar. This achievement is a matter of pride not only for Pakur but for the entire state of Jharkhand.

The Adi Karmyogi Abhiyan aims to promote empowerment, public participation, and sustainable development at the village level among tribal communities. The Pakur district administration committed to taking the campaign beyond a mere government program, adopting a philosophy of “from every person to every home”.

Under the leadership of District Collector Mr. Manish Kumar, the campaign was transformed into a social celebration through public awareness, motivation, and social innovation. Key initiatives included:

Adi Blood Donation Day

Adi Feast and Birthday Celebrations

Little Adi Karmyogi program

For effective implementation, Pakur established District and Block Process Labs, Adi Service Centers at the village level, and conducted village meetings and Village Action Plans (VAPs) in all 400 selected Adi villages. These measures ensured that development planning was aligned with the actual needs of the communities.

Speaking about the award, District Collector Mr. Manish Kumar said:

“This recognition is the result of the shared commitment of every Karmyogi, official, and citizen of Pakur. The Adi Karmyogi Abhiyan is not just an administrative reform but a symbol of changing the way we think and act.”

Pakur’s model has now emerged as an inspiring example for districts across India, demonstrating that when administrative sensitivity, innovation, and community participation come together, development initiatives evolve from mere plans on paper into powerful people’s movements.
