Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) held its 53rd Annual General Meeting at Chinmaya Mission, New Delhi, where Chairman & Managing Director Amarendu Prakash addressed shareholders virtually.
He reaffirmed SAIL’s role in nation-building, supplying steel to sectors like infrastructure, railways, defence and energy. Guided by the National Steel Policy 2017, he said the company is moving towards green technologies, digitalisation and customer-focused solutions.
Prakash highlighted initiatives in hydrogen-based steelmaking, carbon capture, biochar use and renewable energy, stressing that SAIL is committed to leading the green transition. He also spoke of two key programmes – Pravartanam (digital transformation) and SAIL Darpan (HR transformation) – to strengthen operations.
Concluding, he expressed confidence that SAIL is future-ready and positioned for greater growth.
