Robbery at Madhupur HDFC Bank: Health Minister Irfan Ansari directs arrest within 24 hours



Ranchi (Madhupur)::The daring daylight robbery at the HDFC Bank in Madhupur on Monday has created a sensation in the area. Armed unknown criminals looted cash amounting to ₹1,64,25,250 and gold jewelry worth around ₹40 lakh from the bank. The incident has caused panic among the locals.



On Tuesday, Jharkhand’s Health Minister and local MLA Dr. Irfan Ansari personally visited the HDFC Bank and inquired in detail about the incident from the bank staff. He described the crime as extremely serious and audacious. Dr. Ansari said, “The HDFC Bank is located right within my Rajbari campus. The criminals have not only shown courage but committed a heinous crime. They will not be spared at any cost.”
The minister instructed SDPO Satyendra Prasad at the site to ensure the criminals are arrested within 24 hours. He emphasized that such incidents question the law and order situation, which will not be tolerated.

Meanwhile, on Monday night, upon receiving information about the robbery, DIG Amber Lakda and SP Saurabh reached the bank to inspect the crime scene. The police have obtained CCTV footage from inside the bank and are conducting a thorough investigation. Additionally, a motorcycle believed to have been used in the robbery has been seized, which may help track the culprits.
According to police sources, the criminals entered the bank with weapons, took the staff hostage, and fled with cash and gold. The robbery took approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. The police are investigating all aspects of the case, including the possibility of inside involvement.
This major incident has created fear among the public, and people are worried about the security measures at the bank. The local administration is under immense pressure to resolve the case quickly.
