Ranchi:: On the occasion of Hindi Diwas 2025, the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms & Official Language, Government of Jharkhand, organized a grand event at Sri Krishna Institute of Public Administration, Ranchi. The event was graced by Mr. Praveen Toppo, Secretary, Department of Personnel, who emphasized that Hindi is not just a language but a powerful medium of national unity, culture, and communication.
In his address, Mr. Toppo stated that Hindi has played a vital role in making administrative processes simpler and more accessible to the common people. He called upon everyone to work collectively to make Hindi simpler, more user-friendly, and universally accessible, so it becomes an integral part of every citizen's life.
“Passing Hindi on to future generations is our collective duty”
Mr. Toppo reiterated that Hindi, as our mother tongue, is a significant marker of our cultural identity, and it is the shared responsibility of all citizens to pass it on to the next generation. He also informed that the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms & Official Language is consistently working towards the promotion and effective implementation of Hindi. Various schemes, training programs, and awareness campaigns are being run by the department to encourage the use of Hindi.
Dr. Parvati Tirkey: “Hindi is not just a language but our literary soul”
Dr. Parvati Tirkey, Assistant Professor in the Department of Hindi at Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav College and a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Youth Award, stated that Hindi should not be seen merely as a tool for communication. Instead, it should be recognized as a cultural and literary soul that reflects our identity. She stressed the need to explore the depth of Hindi and connect it with modern contexts so that it continues to thrive among younger generations.
Emphasizing the role of Hindi in the digital and technical era
Other speakers at the event highlighted the importance of increasing the use of Hindi in business, management, medicine, engineering, e-governance, and digital platforms, especially in the context of higher education and the digital age.
Winners of literary competitions felicitated
During the event, the winners of the Essay Writing and Short Story Writing Competitions organized as part of the Hindi Diwas celebrations were felicitated. Prizes were awarded to participants securing first, second, and third positions.
