DC’s Humanitarian Intervention Helps Family Reclaim Seized Vehicle at Janata Darbar , 63 Grievances Heard

 


Bokaro, 16 September 2025: A heartening example of sensitive administration was witnessed during the weekly Janata Darbar at the Collectorate on Tuesday, when Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ajay Nath Jha intervened to resolve a distressed family’s grievance.


Chas resident Monika Vishwakarma, accompanied by her in-laws, had approached the Janata Darbar with a plea that their vehicle had been seized by the bank due to non-payment of EMIs caused by financial hardship. Taking note of the matter, DC Jha immediately directed the grievance cell in-charge and Lead District Manager (LDM) Abid Hussain to engage with representatives of IndusInd Bank. After discussions, the bank, on humanitarian grounds, agreed to return the vehicle .


Within hours, in the presence of DC Jha, bank official Pawan Srivastava handed over the keys to the family. An emotional Monika Vishwakarma expressed gratitude to the DC for his timely intervention and assured that all future installments would be paid on time.


“Such sensitive interventions reaffirm people’s trust in governance,” said DC Jha, adding that administration remains committed to providing relief and solutions to common citizens.


Notably Janata Darbar witnessed hearings of 63 applications, covering issues related to land disputes, encroachment, pensions, education, supply services, and revenue matters. Several cases were resolved on the spot, while officials were instructed to expedite pending cases.


Reiterating the objective of Janata Darbar, DC Jha said, “This platform is meant to listen to the grievances of people directly and ensure their timely resolution. The administration is fully committed to living up to public expectations.”


Senior officials including DPLR Menka, Additional Collector Mohd. Mumtaz Ansari, Grievance Cell in-charge Piyush, and Assistant Public Relations Officer Avinash Kumar Singh were present.
