Bokaro, Sept 14 – Deputy Commissioner Bokaro Ajay Nath Jha, known for his deep cultural and linguistic roots, has voiced strong concern over the practice of adjusting Hindi Diwas celebrations to suit convenience.
He noted that while individuals celebrate their birthdays on the exact date regardless of holidays, most institutions mark Hindi Diwas in advance if it coincides with a Sunday or holiday. “Such adjustments dilute the spirit of the occasion,” Jha remarked, emphasizing that Hindi Diwas carries a symbolic importance which should not be compromised.
Jha urged schools, colleges, and offices to reflect on the true essence of the day and to ensure that commemorations remain aligned with the actual date, reinforcing respect for the language and its cultural value.
His remarks have stirred debate, with many educationists and language enthusiasts echoing the concern that convenience should not override authenticity when it comes to honoring national and linguistic milestones.
