Bokaro to Develop PVTG Villages into Model Settlements: DC Bokaro

The Bokaro district administration will adopt and develop all four Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) villages into model settlements, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha announced during a special camp at Birhortanda in Tulbul Panchayat. The initiative will focus on building essential infrastructure like schools, Anganwadi centres, health units, and cultural spaces, with work set to begin within two months.

The DC instructed officials to complete a socio-economic and educational survey of PVTG families within 15 days to design need-based welfare schemes. As part of the “Mere Gaon – Mere Log” campaign, senior officials are visiting villages weekly to engage with residents and address local concerns.

Educational kits, seeds, and clothing were distributed during the camp, and welfare stalls were set up by various departments. The DC and Deputy Development Commissioner also inspected an MGNREGA-supported mango orchard and called for stronger market linkages to boost tribal livelihoods. The DDC assured further support under PM Janman Yojana and women’s livelihood projects.
