Simdega’s Amrapali Mangoes Gain Global Recognition, First Commercial Consignment Exported to London

Ranchi: Simdega district has achieved a significant milestone in agricultural exports as the first commercial consignment of Amrapali mangoes produced under the Birsa Harit Gram Horticulture Scheme has been dispatched to the United Kingdom (London).

The development was shared by Simdega Deputy Commissioner Kanchan Singh during a courtesy meeting with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren at the Chief Minister’s residential office on Kanke Road in Ranchi.

The Deputy Commissioner informed the Chief Minister that the export was made possible through the efforts of women-led Self-Help Groups and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), with support from JSLPS. The initiative was spearheaded by Mahila Jagriti and Beura Farmer Producer Company, marking an important step toward providing global recognition to local farmers and women-led producer organizations.

During the meeting, representatives of the women’s groups presented Amrapali mangoes from Simdega to the Chief Minister. MLA Kalpana Soren was also present on the occasion.

Appreciating the initiative, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the state government remains committed to strengthening the rural economy and promoting women’s empowerment. He emphasized that ensuring better returns for farmers, creating new opportunities for women, and accelerating agricultural exports are among the government's key priorities.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Simdega’s success would inspire farmers and women’s groups across Jharkhand and help establish the state's agricultural products in international markets.
