Ranchi: The second conference of the Birsa Munda Biological Park Employees' Union was held at Birsa Munda Biological Park (Zoo) in Ranchi. The conference deliberated on various issues concerning employees, including service security, regularization of jobs, Employees' State Insurance (ESI) benefits, workplace-related problems, and strengthening of the union.
The conference was attended by CITU State Vice-President Prakash Biplab and Ranchi District Secretary Prateek Mishra as observers.
Addressing the gathering, Prakash Biplab alleged that the labour codes introduced by the Central Government could adversely affect workers' rights and weaken employment security and social protection mechanisms. He stressed the need to ensure ESI benefits for all eligible employees of the biological park and demanded regularization of workers who have been serving for several years.
Biplab called upon employees to remain united and strengthen their collective struggle for the protection of labour rights and resolution of pending demands. He assured that CITU would continue to support the employees in their efforts to secure their legitimate rights and benefits.
During the conference, employees also raised several workplace-related concerns and emphasized the importance of organizational unity in addressing their issues. Speakers highlighted that a strong and united union is essential for safeguarding the interests of workers.
The conference also elected a new executive committee of the union. Shankar Mahato was elected President, while Mani Munda was elected General Secretary. The newly elected office-bearers thanked the employees for their confidence and pledged to intensify efforts for the welfare of workers, resolution of their grievances, and strengthening of the organization.
The conference concluded with a collective pledge to uphold workers' unity, protect employees' rights, and continue the struggle for their legitimate demands.
