Media Body Leads Protest March, Flags Safety Concerns and Seeks Probe Over Alleged Assault
Bokaro, May 2: Members of the Bokaro District Journalists Association staged a protest on Saturday over an alleged assault on journalists during a recent official programme attended by minister Irfan Ansari. The incident, reportedly involving an associate of the minister, has raised concerns about the safety of media personnel, coming just ahead of World Press Freedom Day.
According to sources, the episode occurred two days ago when journalists present for coverage were allegedly manhandled. Media representatives termed the incident serious and demanded immediate action.
