Ranchi: In a commendable and humanitarian initiative, Ranchi Sadar Hospital organized its first-ever mega blood donation camp for children suffering from thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, and aplastic anemia. The camp witnessed active participation from doctors, officials, staff members, suppliers, and vendors of the hospital, resulting in the collection of 102 units of blood.
The camp was organized following an appeal by the “Lahoo Bolega” Blood Donation Organization, Ranchi, and the Jharkhand Thalassemia Patients Association. The initiative was led with strong commitment by Dr. Bimlesh Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Ranchi Sadar Hospital and State President of the Jharkhand State Health Services Association (JHSA). His dedicated efforts made this collective blood donation drive possible.
Ranchi Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar, along with the entire hospital administration, extended full support, making the event a significant success. The organizing bodies expressed their gratitude to the hospital management for this noble effort.
During the camp, thalassemia patients, their families, and donors felicitated Dr. Bimlesh Singh and Dr. Prabhat Kumar with flowers, garlands, and traditional Jharkhandi angvastra. Prasad was also distributed by Pandit Ajit Mishra from Pahari Mandir.
Dr. Ranju Sinha, In-charge of the Blood Bank at Ranchi Sadar Hospital, along with other donors, was thanked warmly by the children, who offered flowers and sweets, expressing their gratitude with “Thank you, Doctor Uncle,” marking an emotional moment.
Among those present were children including Pragati Prakash, Ayush Mishra, Rafael Hasan, Roshan Kachhap, Tinku Kumar, Ajit Kachhap, and Nirmal Kumari. Family members and supporters included Pandit Ajit Mishra, Seema Devi, Sujata Kumari, Farhaya Bilkis, Bimla Kachhap, Reshmi Tirkey, Seema Kachhap, Pushpa Devi, Sheela Devi, Nadeem Khan, Engineer Shahnawaz Abbas, and Mahendra Kumar.
