Event at Buddha Vihar Hall attended by MLAs Umakant Rajak, Shweta Singh, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and senior journalists
Bokaro, April 15: Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha attended the district conference of the Jharkhand Union of Journalists at Buddha Vihar Hall, Sector-04, highlighting the importance of responsible journalism. The event saw the presence of public representatives and media professionals.
He described journalism as a key pillar of democracy and stressed accuracy, verification and accountability in news reporting, noting that public trust in media has significantly increased. He also underlined the role of newspapers in shaping public opinion and the need for objectivity.
Reaffirming efforts to make Bokaro a leading district, he assured prompt redressal of public issues and warned of strict action against corruption.
Chandankiyari MLA Umakant Rajak and Bokaro MLA Shweta Singh also addressed the gathering. The programme was chaired by Krishna Choudhary and conducted by Shekhar Sharadendu and Santosh Kumar Das.
Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Chas Municipal Corporation were present along with Union Convenor Rajat Gupta, President Shiv Kumar Agarwal, Secretary Rajiv and senior journalist Prakash Sahay. A large number of journalists also attended the conference.
