DIC Priya Ranjan Inaugurates BSL Food Street, Highlights Inclusive Approach

Special child Himanshu’s presence reflects true spirit of inclusivity

Bokaro, March 22, 2026: Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) marked a vibrant milestone as its first-ever Food Street was inaugurated by Director In-Charge (DIC) Priya Ranjan on Sunday evening. Stretching from Gandhi Chowk to Bokaro Mall Mor, the initiative brought together flavours, culture, and community engagement in a lively urban setting.

Addressing the gathering, the DIC emphasised an inclusive approach, stating that BSL’s initiatives aim to bring every section of society together. He underlined that “plant safety strong, flavour all along” is not just a slogan but a guiding principle, reflecting equal focus on industrial safety and quality experience for people. He also noted that BSL is setting new benchmarks day by day and hinted at larger, more structured Food Street formats in the future.

A defining moment of the event was the presence of special child Himanshu, who visited the Food Street with his father. His participation stood as a powerful and moving example of inclusivity in action, reinforcing the idea that such public initiatives are truly accessible and welcoming to all. The moment added emotional depth to the otherwise festive atmosphere.

The event witnessed the presence of senior officials and a large turnout of residents. Around 70 food stalls offered a wide range of cuisines from across the country, with traditional Jharkhand dishes emerging as a major attraction. The Women’s Committee stall, as always, drew significant attention among visitors.

As the evening progressed, the Food Street evolved beyond a culinary destination into a social hub where people connected and celebrated together. Himanshu’s presence, in particular, underscored the core objective of the DIC—building a city culture that balances development, safety, and inclusivity in its truest sense.
