Private Schools Asked To Publish Book Lists 10–15 Days In Advance; Parents Free To Purchase From Any Vendor: Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha

Regular Parent–Teacher Meetings To Be Ensured; Transparency And Student Dignity Emphasised

No Public Mention Of Fee Dues In Class; Schools Directed To Display Uniform Images

In a review meeting held at the Collectorate office chamber, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha met representatives and management members of various private schools operating in the district. Education directors, principals and teachers were also present.

The meeting focused on strengthening transparency, protecting students’ dignity and ensuring convenience for parents.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all private schools to make their book lists public at least 10–15 days before the start of the academic session. This will enable parents to purchase textbooks from any shop or through online platforms of their choice, removing restrictions and avoiding last-minute inconvenience.

He also instructed that pending fee dues must not be announced publicly in classrooms or in front of other students. Such matters should be communicated discreetly through entries in the school diary to prevent embarrassment or psychological stress for children.

Schools were further asked to organise regular Parent–Teacher Meetings with the active participation of directors, principals and teachers, ensuring open communication regarding students’ academic progress and school activities.

Additionally, institutions were directed not to harass parents unnecessarily. Schools must publish clear images of prescribed uniforms so that parents can procure them from any vendor without being compelled to buy from a specific outlet.

Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Majumdar, District Education Officer Jagarnath Lohra, and District Education Superintendent Atul Kumar Chaubey, along with other officials.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the directives must be implemented in a time-bound and transparent manner to foster a respectful and student-friendly educational environment across the district.
