CBI Conducts Raid at Central University, Files of Finance and Administrative Wings Examined

Ranchi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday carried out a raid at the Cheri-Manatu campus of the Central University of Jharkhand in the state capital. Arriving in more than half a dozen vehicles, the CBI team initiated its investigation immediately after entering the university premises. The action is reportedly linked to complaints pertaining to alleged financial irregularities that had surfaced earlier.

According to sources, the probe is focused on suspected irregularities in the allocation of building construction funds as well as appointments made within the university. Upon arrival, CBI officials seized the mobile phones of employees present in the administrative office and instructed them to remain within the premises during the course of the investigation.

During the operation, the team conducted a detailed scrutiny of several important documents and files in the Finance and Administrative wings located on the second floor of the building. Dozens of files were examined, and several key documents were taken into custody.

Notably, this is not the first time the CBI has conducted searches at the university. The agency had previously initiated action in connection with alleged irregularities in financial transactions and recruitment processes.

The sudden raid triggered commotion across the university campus. Students were attending their classes at the time, but as news of the operation spread, an atmosphere of tension and uncertainty prevailed throughout the premises.
