Ranchi: A new chapter is beginning today in the health sector. With the opening of the new medical college and hospital, the path is being paved for providing quality education and modern medical facilities, which will undoubtedly benefit the people of the region. Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren made these remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of the MBBS course (first batch) at Netaji Subhash Medical College and Hospital, Adityapur Saraikela Kharsawan.



The Chief Minister said that establishing a medical college in a smaller district like Saraikela-Kharsawan is a commendable step. Such institutions will create a better educational environment.




You will serve society as skilled doctors



The Chief Minister congratulated and extended his best wishes to the students enrolled in the first batch of the MBBS course, saying that a new batch will be admitted here every year. In five years, this medical college will be fully developed. By the time you complete your studies here, society will have high expectations from you. I am confident that you will serve society as competent and dedicated doctors.




Continuous efforts to strengthen the state’s health system



The Chief Minister said that continuous efforts are being made to strengthen the health system in the state. We are moving forward to create a health ecosystem where quality education is paired with modern medical facilities.



Goal to double the number of medical colleges in the next five years



The Chief Minister said that the government aims to increase the number of medical colleges from 25 to 30 over the next five years. While there are challenges ahead, I believe that it is only when challenges arise that the true joy of working emerges.



He further stated that doctors will continue to come and go from hospitals and medical institutions, which cannot be completely stopped. However, the government is working with full capacity and commitment at every level to ensure that more and better medical colleges, hospitals, diagnostic centers, and qualified doctors are available in the state.




On this occasion, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, Lok Sabha MP Smt. Joba Manjhi, MLAs Shri Dashrath Gagrai, Smt. Savita Mahto, Shri Sameer Mohanti, Shri Mangal Kalindi, Shri Somesh Chandra Soren, former Minister Shri Banna Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department Shri Ajay Kumar Singh, and Chairman of Netaji Subhash Medical College & Hospital Shri Madan Mohan Singh were present.
