Ranchi:Hon’ble Governor Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, while addressing the jointly organized State Foundation Day celebrations of Uttar Pradesh and the states of Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya at Lok Bhavan, Ranchi today, said that Uttar Pradesh is world-renowned for its rich cultural heritage, glorious history, and deep spiritual consciousness. Sacred cities such as Varanasi, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, and Mathura are not only centers of faith for India but also hold immense cultural significance for the entire world.
Referring to the Maha Kumbh held in Prayagraj, the Governor said that the participation of crores of devotees from India and abroad is a unique example of India’s cultural strength and its strong spiritual traditions. Such massive and faith-driven public participation is rare on a global scale.
He stated that in recent years, Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a major investment hub while making significant contributions to the country’s development, earning a distinct identity as an “Uttam Pradesh.” The Governor also noted that since Independence, Uttar Pradesh has given the highest number of Prime Ministers to the nation, and presently, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi represents Varanasi in the Lok Sabha.
The Governor further said that the northeastern states of Tripura, Manipur, and Meghalaya enrich India’s cultural diversity through their unique cultures, traditions, art forms, and natural beauty. He emphasized that the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” programme is an important initiative to promote mutual understanding, dialogue, and cultural exchange among states, and that this celebration truly reflects that spirit.
Extending his heartfelt greetings to the people of all four states on their Foundation Day, the Governor wished them continued development, prosperity, and progress.
On the occasion, video messages from the Hon’ble Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, and the Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya, Shri C. H. Vijayashankar, were also screened.
At the conclusion of the programme, all attendees were administered the Voters’ Pledge in observance of National Voters’ Day to be celebrated on January 25.
