Women’s Education Will Transform Society, Jharkhand Will Lead the Way — Governor

Ranchi: Hon’ble Governor and Chancellor of Jharkhand’s Universities, Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, attended the third convocation ceremony of Jamshedpur Women’s University on Wednesday. Addressing the gathering, he said that women’s education is the true foundation of a progressive society and that the daughters of Jharkhand are playing a vital role in nation-building.

The Governor extended heartfelt congratulations to all graduating students and said that their achievement is the result of their hard work, discipline, and dedication. He noted that the journey of this institution—from an intermediate college to a full-fledged university—reflects an inspiring story of women’s education, empowerment, and social transformation.

He also expressed satisfaction that alumnae of the university are contributing remarkably in diverse fields including education, administration, science, entrepreneurship, arts, and sports.

Referring to the Prime Minister’s initiatives for women’s empowerment—especially ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, skill development programs, and women entrepreneurship schemes—the Governor said that these campaigns have delivered positive results across the country. He added that India’s daughters are achieving new milestones on global platforms, and the daughters of Jharkhand are advancing rapidly in the same direction.

In his address, the Governor stated, “A convocation is not the end of education but the beginning of a new journey in life.” He advised the students that whichever field they choose—education, law, administration, science, industry, or social service—their success must be guided by human sensitivity, moral values, and a sense of responsibility.

He emphasized that opportunities do not come on their own; they must be earned through determination and hard work. He also highlighted that in various convocations across the state, the number of female medalists surpassing male students is a clear reflection of Jharkhand’s emerging women power.

The Governor and Chancellor reiterated that ensuring quality education, regular classes, timely examinations, and prompt results across all state universities is his top priority. He said that Jamshedpur Women’s University should strive to emerge as a national center of excellence in women’s education.

Wishing all degree recipients a bright future, he expressed confidence that the talented daughters of Jharkhand will play a significant role in fulfilling the vision of Developed India @2047.
