Ranchi :: Maulana Azad Human Initiative (MAHI) organized a warm and inspiring event on Wednesday at Madrasa Arabia Tajweedul Quran, located in Husir, Kanke, where 81 underprivileged students were provided with woolen sweaters. As part of “The Cold is Bold — An Initiative by MAHI,” the children participated in a quiz competition, and those who answered correctly received sweaters as prizes. This effort proved crucial in ensuring continuity in the education of students who often struggle during winter due to the lack of uniforms and warm clothing.
Former General Manager (GM) of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Mr. Alok, attended the program as the chief guest. Appreciating MAHI’s initiative, he said that public sector undertakings like CCL have always prioritized education and social development. He emphasized that MAHI’s efforts would significantly strengthen the educational journey of children from economically weaker sections and urged the corporate sector to actively participate in such socially beneficial initiatives.
President of Husir Anjuman, Mr. Suleman Ansari, highlighted the importance of equality and social inclusion in education. He said that such initiatives help reduce dropout rates and give children a more stable academic future. Vice President Mohammad Shakeel Ansari also expressed commitment to supporting and expanding this campaign.
MAHI Convener and Member of Jharkhand Waqf Board, Mr. Ibrar Ahmad, appreciated the determination of the students, saying that their dedication to education even in the harsh winter mornings is truly inspiring. He added that removing obstacles from the paths of these young learners is a collective responsibility of society.
MAHI Secretary, Mr. Matiur Rahman, explained that every year, on the occasion of Maulana Azad’s birth anniversary (11–18 November), MAHI conducts an Education and Harmony Campaign. During this period, various competitions and awareness activities are organized, and essential items such as sweaters, shoes and uniforms are distributed to needy children. This year, MAHI aims to distribute sweaters to 1,000 underprivileged students.
Representatives from several organizations and hundreds of madrasa students attended the program, making it a symbol of educational upliftment and social solidarity.
