Ranchi (Ghatshila):Jharkhand Minority Commission Chairman and senior JMM leader Hidayatullah Khan termed the BJP’s attempt to raise issues like SIR and Bangladeshi infiltration in the Ghatshila by-election as ridiculous and baseless.
Khan said, “The BJP has been busy changing the names of cities and in the process has forgotten the geography of the country. Ghatshila does not share any international border, so how can Bangladeshis come here?”
He added that maintaining international border security is the responsibility of the Central Government, yet the Centre has failed to act on infiltration issues during the last eleven years.
Referring to the BJP’s campaign during the Bihar Assembly elections, Khan said, “The BJP and Election Commission created unnecessary drama over the ‘SIR’ issue. Ultimately, only 300 people from Nepal and Bangladesh—mostly Hindus—were identified as foreign nationals, while eight crore voters were made to stand in queues.”
Accusing the BJP of deceiving the people, he said the party has now become completely issue-less.
Reacting to the statements of former Chief Minister Champai Soren, Khan remarked, “He has changed his robe, and so have his words. He holds no influence in Ghatshila; BJP has ended his political existence.”
Confident of victory, Khan said, “We will win. The magicians and masterminds of Ghatshila are Chief Minister Hemant Soren and MLA Kalpana Soren.”
He further clarified that the JMM alliance is contesting the election strongly, and Champai Soren’s alignment with the BJP will not affect voters in Ghatshila.
