8th Pay Commission Formed; Central Government Should Grant Interim Relief – State Pensioners’ Association

Ranchi :: The general meeting of the Jharkhand State Pensioners’ Association, Ranchi–Lohardaga, was held at the Pensioners’ Bhawan under the chairmanship of Sajit Kumar Lakra. Addressing the gathering, Mahesh Kumar Singh, National Secretary of the All India State Pensioners’ Federation, New Delhi, said that as per government rules, whenever the dearness allowance (DA) reaches 50%, the Central Government constitutes a Pay Commission and revises the pay scales accordingly.

He further stated that in the past, before the Pay Commission submitted its report, the government used to provide interim relief to employees to ease the burden of rising prices. At present, the DA has reached 58%, and the Central Government has already constituted the 8th Pay Commission and appointed its chairman and secretary.

Therefore, it is urged that the Government of India should provide interim relief to both serving and retired government employees.

Those present in the meeting included Mohan Minj, Jaigovind Sahu, Ghumti Oraon, Mahesh Kumar Singh, Devmani Kumari, Ashamani Lakra, Manju Devi, Savitri Devi, Bisni Uraen, Bila Devi, and Munia Devi, along with a large number of pensioners.
