Ranchi: Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari has launched a major crackdown against fake and expired medicines across the state. He firmly stated, “Playing with people’s lives and health will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Issuing a stern warning, Dr. Ansari said, “If any hospital or medical store is found selling fake medicines, expired drugs, or codeine-based cough syrups, the culprits will face severe legal consequences.”
According to sources, on Tuesday, several drug mafias in and around Ranchi attempted to secretly dispose of fake medicines and cough syrups underground. Locals, upon noticing suspicious activity, immediately informed the Health Minister.
Dr. Ansari promptly directed officials to rush to the spot and initiate an investigation. He instructed, “Find out which company manufactured this cough syrup, who dumped it here, and how it reached the market. The culprits must be identified and punished with the harshest legal action.”
The Health Minister also cautioned all medical store owners, saying that if any shop is found selling fake or intoxicant cough syrup, it will be sealed immediately and the owner will be sent to jail.
Dr. Ansari emphasized that this is not merely a matter of law but a serious crime against public health, and the government will not tolerate it at any cost.
