Ranchi: The Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Shashi Prakash Singh, held an interactive meeting on Friday at the Collectorate Auditorium with representatives of panchayats displaced or affected by the NTPC Badam Coal Mining Project. The meeting aimed to closely understand the issues faced by displaced families in the project area and take concrete steps toward their resolution.
During the meeting, members of the Panchayat Committee, Mukhiya, Up-Mukhiya, ward members, and other representatives raised demands related to essential services such as water, education, healthcare, roads, electricity, hospitals, and employment.
Deputy Commissioner Mr. Singh stated that the district administration is fully committed to protecting the rights and interests of villagers.
He said, “It is our responsibility to ensure your rights. Every issue related to compensation, rehabilitation, local employment, and community development will be addressed through administrative and interactive processes.”
He further emphasized, “The rule of law is paramount, and the administration will
always stand transparently with the villagers.The district administration will take all possible steps to ensure that every eligible beneficiary receives their entitled amount and benefits of the schemes.”
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the representatives to act as a bridge between the administration and villagers, ensuring quick and lasting solutions to problems. He also mentioned that the NTPC project area will provide benefits to villagers through various schemes aimed at overall development and community upliftment.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner along with the Additional Collector, District Land Acquisition Officer, Sadar SDO, Badkagaon CO, BDO, and other officials and representatives of the affected panchayats.
