Bokaro, Sept 28: At around 3:45 PM today, an incident occurred at the Steel Melting Shop-2 (SMS-2) of Bokaro Steel Plant when molten metal was being transported in a ladle from the mixer to the converter. Due to a mechanical issue in the crane, some of the molten metal spilled onto the ground.
The mishap resulted in burn injuries to three contract workers, with the severity varying from moderate to serious. The injured were immediately shifted to Bokaro General Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
According to information provided by COC M.K. Dhan, all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured workers.
Further COC said A high-level enquiry committee has been set up, and the management is committed to identifying the cause of the accident and taking necessary steps to prevent any such mishap in the plant in the future.
