Ranchi: A ‘Scheduled Caste Seminar’ was organized by the All India Dhobi Federation at the Old Assembly Auditorium. In this event, various leaders from the state Congress discussed the rights of the Dalit community and emphasized the need to fight for their protection.
BJP Accused of Being Anti-Dalit
Congress state in-charge Raju made serious allegations against the BJP. He said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is an anti-Dalit party and, during its tenure, it either reduced the funds for several schemes meant for Dalits or shut them down entirely. Raju stated that the Congress party wants the country to run according to the Constitution framed by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, ensuring full rights for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Suresh Baitha Expresses Concern
Congress MLA Suresh Baitha expressed concernover the rights of Dalits. He said that it is now necessary to speak out openly and fight for the rights and entitlements of the Dalit community. Baitha also stated that unless the Dalit community raises its voice, it will not receive its due rights.The seminar can be seen as a campaign to raise awareness for the protection of Dalit rights. Mr. Baitha made it clear that the Dalit community must actively struggle for their entitlements. It must also be ensured that the actual benefits of government schemes reach the Dalit community, so that meaningful steps can be taken toward equality.
Attack on the Central Government 
Leader of the Congress Legislative Party,Pradeep Yadav, targeted the Central Government, accusing it of continuously diminishing the constitutional rights of Dalits. He also pointed out the lack of effective measures for Dalit welfare in Jharkhand. Yadav raised concerns over the inactivity of the Scheduled Caste Commission, the absence of a Scheduled Caste Finance Corporation, and the weak status of the advisory committee in the state.
Condition of Dalits in Jharkhand
In Jharkhand, the benefits of government schemes often do not fully reach the Dalit community. Leaders appealed to the state government to take more concrete and effective steps for Dalit welfare. Pradeep Yadav demanded that the implementation of schemes for Scheduled Castes be ensured to the fullest extent.
Need for Unity
During the seminar, leaders stressed the need to raise a united voice for the rights of the Dalit community. They asserted that under the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Dalits cannot be denied their rightful entitlements.
Congress Deputy Leader Rajesh Kachhap and other prominent leaders were also present at the event.
