Ranchi:: In a major development linked to the ongoing land scam investigation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out simultaneous raids at multiple locations in Ranchi on Tuesday morning. The raids targeted premises of several builders in Kanke, Sukhdev Nagar (Ratu Road), and Kadru, creating a stir within the builder community.
According to sources, the raids were conducted as part of a money laundering investigation. The builders are suspected of involvement in illegal transactions of government and restricted lands, along with alleged forgery in land documents.
Notably, on July 10, 2024, the ED had previously conducted a physical verification of disputed lands in the Kanke area. During that operation, records related to government land and plots falling under the CNT (Chotanagpur Tenancy) Act in the Chama Mauja region were thoroughly scrutinized.
This latest action by the ED is being seen as a significant and decisive step in the in-depth investigation into the land scam. As of now, the ED has reportedly seized important documents, digital data, and land records from the searched locations, which are currently being examined.
