Media Entry Regulated for Municipal Poll Counting, Says Nodal Officer Ravi Kumar

Bokaro, February 26, 2026: Clear guidelines for media coverage during the Municipal (General) Election 2026 counting process were outlined at a media interaction held at Suchna Bhawan. Nodal Officer of the Media Cell, Ravi Kumar, briefed journalists on the arrangements and protocol to be followed inside the counting centre.

He informed that media personnel will be allowed to enter the counting hall in batches of three to four members at a time to ensure order and smooth conduct of proceedings. The use of camera zoom inside the counting hall has been prohibited to maintain decorum and safeguard the integrity of the process.

Ravi Kumar assured that round-wise polling data will be shared with the media promptly, enabling accurate and timely reporting. He also made it mandatory for journalists to affix their photographs and signatures on their media passes for verification purposes.

During the interaction, several queries were raised by journalists, which were addressed in detail. It was clarified that mobile phones will be permitted up to the designated media centre within the counting premises, but all prescribed rules must be strictly observed inside the counting hall.

The administration reiterated its commitment to ensuring a transparent, orderly and fair counting process with full cooperation from the media fraternity.
