Polling to Be Held on 23 February 2026 From 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Bokaro: Ahead of the Municipal General Elections 2026, the Media Cell on Tuesday conducted a press briefing at the Information Bhavan. The briefing was led by Ravi Kumar, Nodal Officer of the Media Cell and District Public Relations Officer, who apprised media representatives of key election-related guidelines.
During the briefing, emphasis was laid on the role of the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) in curbing paid news. It was informed that, as per the directions of the State Election Commission, strict monitoring is being carried out and any violation will invite action.
Guidelines regarding the printing of posters, pamphlets, and other campaign materials were also reiterated. All printed publicity material must mandatorily carry the name and address of the printer and publisher, failing which it will be treated as a violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
The media was urged to widely disseminate information about the polling scheduled on 23 February 2026, to be held from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and to encourage maximum voter participation. Officials stressed that the role of the media is crucial in ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.
The briefing was also attended by Avinash Kumar Singh, Assistant Public Relations Officer.
