SFI Program in Bundu: Pledge to Protect Education and the Constitution

Today, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) paid tribute to Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda in Bundu, located in the Panchpargana region of Ranchi district. The event was attended by Jharkhand in-charge Comrade Aishi Ghosh, Jharkhand State Convenor Comrade Danish, former SFI Central Executive Committee member Comrade Ranjit Modak, along with Comrades Aman, Khushboo, Diya, and several other activists.

A large number of local students participated in the program. They paid floral tributes to the portrait of Birsa Munda and remembered his struggles and sacrifices.

Addressing the gathering, Jharkhand in-charge Comrade Aishi Ghosh said,

“Dharti Aaba Birsa Munda continues to inspire the youth and students with his spirit of resistance, self-respect, and the fight for rights. Today, the education system is under constant attack. Schools are being shut down, scholarships are being reduced, and the condition of hostels is deteriorating. SFI will not remain silent on these issues and will continue to fight for students’ rights.”

She further added that detailed discussions were held with students on issues such as the Save Schools movement, the HECI Bill, scholarships, hostel-related problems, and delays in academic sessions.

Jharkhand State Convenor Comrade Danish said,

“Education is being turned into a profit-driven system, which is affecting poor and marginalized students the most. SFI will intensify its movement by mobilizing students against such policies.”
Former Central Executive Committee member Comrade Ranjit Modak stated that the life of Birsa Munda inspires people to stand up against injustice and exploitation.

At the end of the program, it was decided to organize events on January 30 under the nationwide campaign ‘Save the Nation, Save the Constitution.’ Through this campaign, students and youth will be made aware of the importance of the Constitution, democracy, and the right to education.
