Bokaro, December 9, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Bokaro, Ajay Nath Jha, took a firm stand on public safety while chairing the District Disaster Management Authority meeting, directing all government and private hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, malls, restaurants and banks to submit their fire safety audit reports within 15 days. The DC made it clear that citizen safety is non-negotiable and warned that strict legal action, including sealing of premises, will be taken against institutions failing to meet safety standards.
Highlighting the need for proactive disaster preparedness, Ajay Nath Jha ordered joint inspections of high-rise buildings and apartments across the district and instructed all office heads to ensure that electrical and electronic equipment are switched off after office hours to prevent fire incidents. He also directed banks to strictly comply with fire and structural safety norms.
During the meeting, essential disaster response equipment such as sirens, life jackets, rescue rings, megaphones, stretchers and first-aid kits were distributed to key district offices.
Deputy Development Commissioner Shatabdi Mazumdar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar, DPRO Ravi Kumar, DSP Animesh Gupta, DSE Atul Chaubey, LDM Abid Hussain and Fire Officer Bhagwan Ojha were present at the meeting.
