Ranchi. Jharkhand Congress spokes person Sonal Shanti accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of diverting public attention from core issues by repeatedly raising the topic of infiltration. She said that the very Santhal Pargana region from where the BJP President talks about infiltration has given the party a clear message by defeating it in the recent Assembly elections.
Sonal Shanti alleged that BJP National President J.P. Nadda avoids holding the Home Minister accountable for infiltration along India’s borders and instead blames non-BJP ruled states. She pointed out that Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh all share international borders where infiltration occurs, yet the BJP leadership conveniently ignores this fact.
She further said that those who dream of changing the Constitution are now pretending to honour Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Young people across the country are wandering in search of jobs with degrees in their hands, but the Central Government remains indifferent to their plight. Spending ₹75 crore under the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme for providing internships to only 2,000 youths raises serious questions about the government’s intentions. She demanded that the BJP reveal how many youths from Jharkhand actually benefited from this scheme.
The Congress spokesperson alleged that for the past 11 years, the Central Government has been deceiving the youth in the name of employment while benefiting a select few industrial groups. In contrast, the Jharkhand Government is running various welfare schemes effectively, and this is why the people have entrusted it with another term while defeating the BJP.
Sonal Shanti added that politics based on religious polarization is like a bubble of water that will burst soon. There is a clear difference between what BJP leaders preach and what they practice. The economic rise of a few industrialists is projected as the development of the entire nation, she remarked.
She also criticized BJP leaders for delivering speeches on Jharkhand’s soil without addressing the state’s economic interests. They remain silent on the state’s rightful share from the Centre, Jharkhand's economic contribution to the nation, and the central funds withheld from the state.
Concluding her remarks, she said, “Those who run the country with a dictatorial mindset cannot truly think about the welfare of common people.”
