Ranchi: The third meeting of the Executive Committee of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) for the current session was held at the Chamber Building under the chairmanship of President Aditya Malhotra. During the meeting, it was decided that the Chamber President will begin district visits from December to establish direct communication with district-level Chambers of Commerce and address traders’ issues promptly.
The Executive Committee approved the formation of 17 sub-committees for the current session along with the nomination of their respective chairpersons. Vice Presidents Praveen Lohia and Ram Bangad jointly stated that the active functioning of these sub-committees has consistently helped the Chamber in resolving state-level issues effectively.
Concern was expressed over the continued illegal collection of entry and exit taxes from vehicles by municipal bodies in several districts of Santhal Pargana, particularly Godda and Pakur. Regional Vice President (Santhal Pargana) Sanjay Agarwal informed that such collections had earlier been stopped in Sahibganj due to the Federation’s efforts, yet despite departmental directives, the practice continues in other districts. Taking note of the seriousness of the issue, the Chamber President assured that he would soon meet the department secretary to seek an immediate resolution.
Regional Vice President (Koyalanchal) Amarjeet Singh Saluja apprised the committee of the problems being faced by traders in the Koyalanchal region. President Malhotra assured that prompt action would be taken, and if required, the Chamber would meet the concerned ministers and secretaries to resolve the issues.
During the meeting, Joint Secretaries Navjot Alang and Rohit Poddar presented membership applications of 16 life members and 2 general members, all of which were unanimously approved.
Members also raised concerns over the indifferent attitude of the municipal corporation in resolving the long-pending rent dispute involving shops located at Bazaar Tand. They noted that delays have led to the issue becoming increasingly complicated and called for immediate intervention from the Urban Development Department. Chairman of the Law & Order Sub-Committee, Mukesh Agarwal, informed that with the support of regional vice presidents, joint meetings of traders and district SPs would be organized across all districts to address law-and-order-related issues effectively.
