Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Sitaram Kesri Remembered at Congress Headquarters





Ranchi: Under the aegis of the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee, the birth anniversaries of India’s former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna, late Smt. Indira Gandhi, and former President of the Indian National Congress, late Sitaram Kesri, were commemorated at the Pradesh Congress Headquarters, Congress Bhawan, Ranchi.




On the occasion, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, Leader of the Congress Legislative Party Pradeep Yadav, and several senior Congress leaders paid floral tributes at their portraits.



Addressing the gathering, Pradesh President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh said that the world recognizes Smt. Gandhi as a symbol of women’s power and leadership. She not only enlightened the nation but also the world. The leader, who strengthened the roots of secularism and communal harmony, made Congress’s contributions in social and political spheres exemplary for the nation. He recalled her last words at the Bhubaneswar rally: “Whether I live or not, every drop of my effort will serve the nation,” which have proven true today.



He further stated that Smt. Gandhi’s four guiding principles—foresight, strong determination, hard work, and discipline—remain as relevant today as ever. Her sincere service and dedication to the nation made her a remarkable personality and provided new direction to the Congress organization. Her role in establishing India among the developing nations will always be remembered.



Congress Legislative Party leader Pradeep Yadav paid homage to both great leaders and highlighted the life of former Congress President Sitaram Kesri, noting that his exceptional leadership skills took him from an ordinary party worker to the position of national president.
