Bokaro, November 2025: Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the late-night fire that broke out at a Chicken Chilli outlet in Sector-4 City Centre, calling the incident a matter of serious public safety concern.
The fire, believed to have started due to a domestic LPG cylinder, created panic in the area and caused heavy damage to the shop. The incident has prompted questions about the use of household gas cylinders in commercial spaces.
Following the incident, the DC instructed Chas SDM Pranjal Dhanda to conduct a comprehensive investigation into how the fire occurred, whether any negligence was involved, and if safety norms were adequately followed.
The inquiry will also review the actions of local administrative bodies and other concerned departments, focusing on routine inspections, licensing, and compliance with safety regulations — without attributing blame at this stage.
DC Jha emphasised that any negligence identified in the report will lead to strict administrative and legal action, reiterating that public safety remains the district administration’s top priority.
