Ranchi: Cosmos Youth Club Charitable Trust, Ranchi organized a workshop on mental health today at Parasnath Public School, Raj Nagar, Hajam Village, Tipu Dhana. The session focused on parental counseling, motivation for better child care, depression, anxiety, and eating disorders among children.
The workshop was led by Dr. Renu Gehlot, a Clinical Psychologist at CIP Ranchi with 21 years of experience. She discussed various methods to help children overcome common mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Dr. Gehlot also addressed several misconceptions that children had, resolving their doubts with ease and clarity.
During the session, children showing signs of psychological distress received individual counseling, and their parents were informed in detail about the necessary steps for improvement.
The main objectives of the workshop were:
To control children’s addiction to mobile phones
To improve the academic performance of weak studentsTo motivate irregular students to attend school regularly
To boost children’s self-confidence and enhance their personality
To reduce mental stress caused by family problems
Many children in rural schools come from environments where neither academic support nor emotional guidance is available at home. The initiative aims to fill this crucial gap.
