Ranchi::The Hon’ble Governor of Jharkhand, Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, inaugurated the “Jharkhand State Police Duty Meet–2025” today at the JAP-1 Ground in Ranchi. Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that the event is not only a reflection of the efficiency, discipline, and professionalism of the state police force but also a symbol of healthy competition, cooperation, and team spirit.
The Governor, in his address, said that police personnel are the pillars of security, peace, and order in any state. Despite challenging conditions, they continue to perform their duties with utmost dedication — whether it is maintaining law and order, controlling crime,
or serving citizens during times of crisis. He emphasized that the progress of the state depends on the stability of law and order, and therefore, the police administration must work with honesty, sincerity, and commitment in all circumstances.
Highlighting the importance of trust and communication, the Governor said that strong public-police relations are essential. He urged police officers to interact with citizens politely, listen to their grievances with sensitivity and promptness, and ensure timely redressal so that people can express their concerns without fear.
Focusing on improving investigation standards, the Governor underlined the need to adopt scientific methods and modern technology in crime control. This, he said, would help ensure that criminals are brought to justice quickly and that victims receive timely relief. Referring to the three new criminal laws recently implemented under the visionary leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, he described them as historic reforms in the country’s justice system, aimed at ensuring victim-centric justice. He expressed confidence that the Jharkhand Police would internalize the spirit of these new laws and set an example in ensuring public safety and upholding justice.
The Governor also spoke about the need for stronger initiatives to eliminate Naxal activities in the state. Emotionally recalling encounters with the families of martyred soldiers, he said,
Whenever the mortal remains of a martyr arrive from West Singhbhum (Chaibasa) and I meet their families, I am at a loss for words to console them. Violence is never a solution to any problem.
He appealed to those involved in Naxal activities to join the mainstream of development, education, and self-
reliance, and contribute to the
progress of Jharkhand.
In conclusion, the Governor encouraged all participating police personnel to apply the lessons learned from the Duty Meet to enhance their professional efficiency, investigative work, and sense of duty. He expressed hope that such events would further strengthen the energy, motivation, and unity of the police force.
