Ranchi (Dhanbad):A heartfelt memorial meeting was organized in memory of Comrade S.K. Ghosh, a senior leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and a staunch fighter for people’s struggles in Jharkhand. The event was attended by senior party leader, Polit Bureau member, and former Member of Parliament, Comrade Brinda Karat, as the chief guest.
During the gathering, Comrade Karat recalled the life, ideology, and tireless struggles of Comrade Ghosh. She said that he was a true guardian of the rights of the working class, farmers, and marginalized communities.
“Comrade Ghosh always raised his voice against injustice and inequality. The selfless spirit with which he served society remains an inspiration for all of us. His life teaches us that one can stay firmly rooted in principles and values while maintaining a deep bond with the people,” she said.
Comrade Karat further noted that in today’s time—when social inequality and economic disparity are on the rise—the ideology and determination of leaders like Ghosh have become even more relevant. She urged party members to internalize his ideals and intensify their struggles for people’s causes.
Party’s State Secretary Comrade Prakash Biplav also paid tribute, saying that Comrade Ghosh not only strengthened the organization but also gave new direction to the Left movement both in thought and action.
“He was a symbol of organizational discipline, ideological clarity, and deep connection with the masses. His absence will be deeply felt by both the party and society,” he said.
Local leaders and party workers also shared their thoughts during the memorial. Speakers emphasized that preserving Comrade Ghosh’s legacy and spreading his ideology among the younger generation is the party’s moral responsibility. They described his life as a rare example of struggle, simplicity, and public service.
They added that throughout his political career, Ghosh never compromised on his principles for power or position; his entire life was devoted to social justice, equality, and the upliftment of workers and farmers.
The program saw the participation of a large number of party members, supporters, intellectuals, and common citizens. The meeting concluded with two minutes of silence observed in honor of Comrade Ghosh.
The event was not just a memorial gathering but also a moment to remember and reaffirm the legacy of struggle and sacrifice that defined a life dedicated to the people’s cause.
