Ranchi (Palamu): Setting an inspiring example of women’s empowerment, the women of Langditar Pichhuliya Tola under Kanchanpur Panchayat in Chhatarpur Block utilized the amount received through the Maiya Samman Yojana to construct a road.
On Saturday, around 3.5 lakh women across the district received ₹5,000 each in their bank accounts as two months’ installment under the Maiya Samman Yojana, a scheme launched to promote women’s economic empowerment.
After receiving the amount, 25 women of Pichhuliya Tola mutually decided to contribute ₹2,000 each. In this way, a total of ₹50,000 was collected.
With the help of voluntary labor (shramdaan) and collective effort, the villagers completed the construction of a 1.5-kilometer-long mud-murram road in just two days. The new road has brought great relief to the residents by improving local connectivity.
The women of the village said that with proper intent and mutual cooperation, government support can truly change the face of villages. This initiative has not only improved basic infrastructure but has also strengthened women’s participation and leadership in community development.
Local villagers praised the women’s efforts, stating that this initiative is an inspiration for the entire district and state.
