Ranchi/Koderma :: The grand inauguration of the MP Sports Festival 2025 took place on Saturday in the Koderma Lok Sabha constituency under the leadership of Hon’ble MP Mrs. Annapurna Devi. The festival commenced with a Cyclothon from J.J. College, Koderma to Maharana Pratap Chowk, Jhumri Telaiya, in which a large number of youth, students, and sports enthusiasts participated with great zeal.
Following the Cyclothon, the first football match of the festival was played at Chandrawati Memorial High School football ground,Domchanch.The thrilling encounter between Koderma and Giridih teams kept the spectators on edge. After a tough contest, Koderma emerged victorious with a 3–2 scoreline. The players’ sportsmanship and determination won the hearts of the audience.
The MP Sports Festival will run from September 26 to December 25, 2025, featuring competitions in football, kabaddi, kho-kho, lagori, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, athletics (track and field), and chess. Events will be held at various locations across the Koderma parliamentary constituency to ensure that players from every assembly segment get an opportunity to showcase their talent.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Annapurna Devi said,
“Sports are not only a foundation for physical and mental strength but also a powerful medium for social unity and building a drug-free society.” She urged people to participate in large numbers and contribute to making the festival a historic success.
The event was graced by State Vice President Mr. Vikas Pritam, MLAs Mr. Nagendra Mahato, Dr. Neera Yadav, Mr. Amit Yadav, Dr. Manju Kumari, along with BJP district presidents, Zila Parishad representatives, party workers, local citizens, and a large number of sports lovers.
